Annie is starting to pull herself up on things. She's not standing yet. But she shimmies herself over to things, grabs hol to the top of them and pulls upwards, on her knees. SHe did it to the piano bench and Mallie's bed rail today. She's dying to crawl, too... but I think she'll be pulling herslef to standing before she crawls.
Annie has also decided that she prefers to sleep on her tummy. She's been rolling over every time I put her to bed and then crying because she can't get back over. But the last 2 nights, she immediately rolls onto her tummy and puts her little head down and goes to sleep.... usually after singing herself a little song. Last night she slept through the night for the first time in a LONG time and I think that's why!
I got video today of Annie laughing at Jack playing the keyboard. She gets herself laughing so hard that she cannot stop. It is absolutely the cutest thing. WHenever she makes eye contact with me, she stops and scans my face for a few seconds and then just starts doing this belly laugh.
Tommy and Jack were reading his Highlights magazine tonight. Tommy was reading riddles to Jack that he'd have to complete using the clues and a rhyming word. He was able to get all of them! To me, this was pretty impressive and he was so proud of himself.
Then he started getting silly with the game and saying words that didn't rhyme or make sense. He had us all in hysterics- especially Mallie. SHe didn't really understand the joke, but she knew when it was time for the punchline and was laughing the loudest and hardest.
Jack's been confusing words a little lately.... he asks if Lana is coming over to 'baby-sitter' him. He's been calling the plural of referee "ref-es'. The other day he asked me why the bananas had turned green. I told him that they are green first and will turn yellow when they ripen. He asked 'What does ripen mean?" and I replied, "It means that they are ready to eat". He thought about that for a second and then asked, "What will they eat? Do they eat kids!?"

Jack's question about the bananas is seriously the funniest thing I've ever heard. He is so darn cute lately.
