Lots of catching up to do:
Today Jack told me that his dad told him that a ladybug crawled on his face when he was outside and bit his cheek. I asked him what Daddy said when that happened, and he said 'Ouch Criminy!!!" (which is a word Tommy does use all the time!)
We were pulling in the driveway from the Little Gym today, when Jack pulled up his pant leg and felt his leg. He exclaimed, "Mommy! I have HAIR on my leg!!!" I didn't really have time to reply to this, as I was hauling babies and bags back and forth from the van to the house. But when I returned to get him out of his seat, I heard him telling Mallie, "Oh Mals! I know why I have this hair on my leg! It's because I am getting big like a grown up". Mals was not listening to any of this, just squirming and whining to get out of her seat.
Annie took a nice long nap this afternoon. I heard her wake up on the monitor, but she never cried! I finished reading Jack and Mallie a book and went up to check on her. She was just rolling around up there, playing with her socks and smiling. SHe would have been happy up there for a long time!
Jack brought me a potato chip from Jack Jack today and told me, "Here Mom! A Ponado chip for you."
We were getting out of the car for Little Gym today and I told Jack that Mallie is going to be the littlest kid in the class and would he help her. He said, "Sure Mom. Mals, you have to listen to your teachers. I help you." Again, she was not listening to him, just pushing her way past him out of the van.
Annie is really purposefully reaching for things and grabbing them. She can sit in her highchair now and we put a toy on the tray and she will sit there and reach and grab for it for a long time. It keeps her so entertained!
We went away last Friday night and left the kids at different houses. Jack stayed with Tom and Mary. Mallie stayed with Auntie (because I thought she needed another kid to play with/ mother, which she did. She was so upset as we dropped Jack and ANnie off, and as soon as we got to Auntie's she went straight for Finn. She helped bathe and walk him that night, too). And Annie went to my mom and dad's. In the morning, I went to get Mallie while Tommy collected the other two at his parent's house. I walked in to Claire's and Mallie got very excited to see me. But then, she brushed by me and went to the front door and said, "Jaaaa?" She was so upset that he wasn't there. So we hurried home, for a very happy reunion and to watch the two of them play for the rest of the morning.
After Squeaky Sneakers today, Jack and Mallie climbed in the back of the van and straight into their seats. I was so happy and said, "Thank you guys for sitting right down!". Mallie exclaimed, "Mama! I sitting down!!" (clear as a bell). And I said, "You are Mallie!? You're such a good girl!" and she replied, "Seeeee! (Seat!)" And I said, "In your seat!? Wow! Great job!" And she said, "Day Doo" (Thank you!) It was the most grown-up and clear conversation I've had with her yet!!!
